Rincon man sentenced to 40 years in prison for child molestation

RINCON, GA (WTOC) -

A Rincon man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for child molestation.

Michael Parfenuk, 61, is charged with two counts of child molestation and two counts of sexual battery on a person under 16.

In January of 2012, a 14-year-old girl said Parfenuk fondled her. Eight months later, the teen killed herself in her parent's house in Rincon.

40 years is the maximum sentence.
