The Forsyth Farmers Market opening for their 2013 season Saturday.
The focus this year is "food access and education". Vendors at the market offer local and regionally produced items. Last year the market doubled it's sales through the snap program formerly known as food stamps. The market is one of the highest rated markets for their program and the hope to reach even more people this year.
Theo Smith says, "turnout was fantastic today, really exceptional. I'm really glad people are understanding about local good, about organic food, about natural food and it's great."
The Forsyth Farmers' Market will be open every saturday rain or shine from 9am to 1pm through Decemeber.
