Rumored shooting on Broughton St. proved false

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A rumored shooting on Broughton St. has turned out to be false.

WTOC recieved several posts on our Facebook page about sounds of a gun firing early Sunday morning.

Savannah Chatham Metro Police have confirmed that there was no shooting.

There is a video of what is now being called a scuffle between customers in front of Taco Abajo on Broughton St. The owner Robert Hauft said that during the same time as the argument the DJ pulled an audio chord out of the soundboard, causing a loud pop. Some people mistook the "pop" as a gun shot.
