SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
The Georgia
History Festival kick-off event will take place Monday in Atlanta.
The annual
commemoration ceremony will mark the 280th anniversary of the founding of the Georgia
colony in 1733.
Georgia
state lawmakers and other dignitaries will be joined by more than 200 students
in attendance at the Capitol, with many in colonial costumes.
Mark
your calendars in the Coastal Empire. In honor of the anniversary, catch the Georgia
Day Parade on Feb. 12 beginning at 10:30 a.m. The route will travel down Bull St.
from Forsyth Park to City Hall. WTOC's Sonny Dixon will proudly host the event.
