CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

General George Smalls, 53, a sex offender who has been evading law enforcement officers since November, was arrested in Florida and extradited to Chatham County on Feb. 3.

Smalls, a Level I sex offender, was convicted of false imprisonment in 1998 in Georgia. He was last registered with the CCSO in October of 2012. Smalls was living at the Inner City Night Shelter at 124 Arnold St. until he disappeared sometime in November. The SORT unit had reason to believe Smalls moved to the Miami, Florida area. They have been working with the U.S. Marshal Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Miami authorities to find Smalls.

The Miami Dade Co. Sheriff's Office arrested Smalls in Miami on Jan. 22. Small was brought to the Chatham Co. Detention Center on Feb. 3. He has been charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

CCSO is also looking for absconded sex offender Christopher Aaron Walter, 30. He was convicted in 2002 in Georgia for enticing a child for indecent purposes and has been labeled a sexual predator by the state.

On Nov. 13, Walter disbanded his electronic ankle monitor and has been missing ever since. Walter is homeless and was last living under the Talmadge Bridge near the Oglethorpe Bus station.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the CCSO's SORT unit at 912.656.5715 or Crimestoppers at 921.234.2020.
