SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah Fire and Emergency Services held a graduation ceremony Tuesday afternoon at the Savannah Civic Center. 29 recruits, including two females, recently completed three months of rigorous training, each earning the nationally recognized designation of firefighter two.

"I just go out there and try to give 100 percent effort. All the guys in my class and instructors have been very supportive. They really have not singled us out much. They always treat us the same and tell us, hey, you're out here, if you can pass the test, you can do anything a male can do," said Natasha Brackett, Savannah Fire and Emergency Services graduate.

The recruits also earned additional certifications including hazmat operations, vehicle extrication, technical rescue and first responder. The guest speaker for the event was Mark Dana, president of the 200 Club of the Coastal Empire.
