Union Co. man accused of illegally moving moonshine

UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said a Union County man not wearing his seatbelt was pulled over, allowing them to discover he was transporting moonshine in his truck.

A patrol deputy stopped Dennis Horton, 53, along Highway 105 near Highway 9 about 11 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a sheriff's office report. The deputy said he smelled alcohol inside Horton's 1984 Ford Bronco.

While searching Horton's truck, deputies said they found several containers of moonshine, including a glass jar full.

Horton was arrested and charged with transporting illegal liquor. He was later released from jail.
