HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -
Several incidents of a man peeping into windows on the south
end of Hilton Head have been reported.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office deputies responded at
about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to Tanglewood Villas after a resident reported
seeing a man looking in her window.
The victim, a 13-year old girl, told deputies that she
walked into her room after showering and noticed a subject staring at her
through her bedroom window, according to the BCSO.
The girl's mother, who was on the rear patio at the time,
reported seeing a man from the side of the building and jump over a fence. The suspect
was described only as a black male wearing dark clothing, according to the BSCO.
Deputies searched the area, but the man was not located.
Two similar incidents were also reported in the nearby area over
the last three weeks.
On Jan. 24, deputies received a report of a suspicious black
male who was seen hiding in the bushes in the courtyard area of Beach Arbor
Villas at 24 Deallyon Ave. The caller said the same suspect was seen on several
occasions in the area always between 6:45-7:00 a.m. The caller was was concerned that the man may have been trying
to watch teen girl tennis students get dressed in the morning, according to the
BCSO.
The suspect was also described as a black male who was
wearing a dark hoodie. He was between 20-30 years old. He was about 5'10" tall
and weighed 160 lbs.
On Jan. 30, deputies responded to the Metropolitan Hotel at 36
S. Forest Beach Dr. on an indecent exposure report. The victim, a 25-year old hotel
desk clerk, told deputies that at about1:30 a.m. she saw a man standing outside
a window near the office and masturbating, according to BCSO. The suspect was
described only as a male in dark hoodie.
South Forest Beach area residents and business owners are
encouraged to be on the lookout for and report any suspicious people. Anyone
