Demonstrators gathered in Smyrna for a rally against gun violence Thursday night.
The group, made up of religious leaders, activists groups and victims of gun violence, marched through the streets near the corporate headquarters of GLOCK Inc., singing, "This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine." A verse of the song was changed to "Let it shine for the children."
Organizers of the rally say gun control discussions shouldn't just be about assault weapons but all weapons.
"The blood of our children are running in the streets," said the Rev. Timothy McDonald, from the African-American Ministers Leadership Council. "The clergy are getting tired of going to funeral, after funeral, after funeral, hearing mothers cry, brothers and sisters who've lost a sibling. This has to stop and it has to stop now."
Thursday night's march comes in the wake of shootings last week at Price Middle School, Morehouse College and other national incidents.
