We've all heard the saying: if something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. That's what Port Royal police want you to keep in mind after recent scam attempts.
Here's how it works: someone approaches a potential victim, tells them they found a large amount of money. They offer a portion to the victim, but only if that person will put in some of their own money. The scammers then take the victim's money.
Police say if someone approaches you with this type of scam, tell them no and report it immediately.
