SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Jonathan
Jamall Anderson, 27, of Guyon, is in custody following an investigation
conducted by the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team.
Earlier
this month, CNT and Savannah-Chatham Metro Police began investigating a suspect
drug smuggler said to be brining in large amounts of cocaine to the
Savannah-Chatham area. CNT Agents working undercover identified Anderson as the
potential suspect.
On
Feb. 7, CNT Agents confirmed Anderson was headed back to the Savannah-Chatham
area from Atlanta on a Greyhound Bus. Authorities met Anderson at the bus
station and found approximately nine ounces of cocaine in his possession. He
was taken into custody and charged with trafficking cocaine.
Anderson
is being held at the Chatham County Detention Center. He was denied bond Friday
at his arraignment in Recorder's Court of Chatham County.
According
to authorities, the cocaine that was seized has an estimated street value of up
to $14,400.
