VIDALIA, GA (WTOC) -

The Supreme Court of Georgia made its way to Vidalia on Friday. They met at the new city council chambers at the Vidalia Municipal Annex. During the session, they heard a case from Chatham County about a law firm sued for malpractice and a Screven man appealing his murder conviction and life in prison sentence. Students from Vidalia High School got to see the court in action and say it was different than they expected.

"It is more professional than I thought it would have been because you know they put drama in to add suspense in television and that does make you think that's how the court system is,"{ said Caroline Smith, Vidalia High School senior.

Each year they leave Atlanta to hear cases in other communities in an effort to make the court more accessible to the public.
