SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Hunter Army Airfield's "Lords and Princesses" gathered at the Mariott Riverfront for a ball.

Folks held a father and daughter dance Saturday evening. Everyone was treated like royalty and some even chose to dress in costume for the occasion.

The dance was meant to give military dads and their daughters a very special night together.

"You know, every girl dreams of a knight in shining armor one day, we don't always think of that as being our dad, but dad gets to be that. So that's real special." said John Smith, Chaplain.

"I think it's the opportunity to see them all dressed up. Little girls really appreciate and it's special to see the dads dress up as well." said Michelle Zeller, Family Readiness Support Assistant.

Each "princess" also received a single pink rose to commemorate their night.
