Davenport House to host Valentine's Day weddings

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Valentine's Day is wedding day at the Davenport House Museum. 

Couples can get married in the museum's courtyard garden.

Chatham Co. Probate Court Judge Harris Lewis will perform weddings every 10 minutes from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There's a suggested museum donation of $100 for the service. Couples should plan on bringing a valid marriage license, which does not require a waiting period or a blood test in the state of Georgia. To reserve a ceremony time, call 912.236.8097.

The ceremony can be conducted in English or Spanish. In the event of rain, ceremonies will be performed on the back porch of the museum, which overlooks the garden.
