Metter man arrested in vehicle theft

METTER, GA (WTOC) -

A Metter man was arrested on charges of vehicle theft early Saturday morning.

Metter police responded at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday on a report of a vehicle crash on South Terrell Street. Officers saw a severely damaged vehicle and damaged property.

Officers determined the vehicle had been stolen from a home on Northeast Broad Street, according to police. Metter police officers Johnny Carter and David Gonzalez quickly developed a lead on the suspect of the theft and made an arrest. 

Police said. Tony D. Wilson, 25, was found at a home on South Terrell Street and was arrested. He's being held at the Candler County jail.
