LIBERTY CO., GA (WTOC) -

The big room at Club Stewart was packed Saturday night for Chief Keith Moran's retirement party. Hundreds extended best wishes to the retiring Liberty County Chief Deputy. Moran was honored by Sheriff Steve Sikes, the Peace Officers Association of Georgia, his wife Grace, longtime co-workers and friends. Moran spent 20 plus years with Liberty County and 20 plus years with Military Criminal Investigations.

"I remember standing on the parade field at the Military Police School at Fort Gordon in November of 1971. As I stand here before you today, I'm still scared to death, not of what's to come, but of what I may have left undone," said Moran.

WTOC's Sonny Dixon served as the emcee for the event.
