DOT Happy with Truman Progress

Now that the new Super Wal-Mart has opened in Sandfly, many are wondering if the Truman Parkway will be close behind. Today crews were working on the bridge over Montgomery Cross Road. There is still a lot of work to be done, but Department of Transportation officials say Phase Three of the parkway will be open by November of this year.

The DOT is happy with the progress. "We're excited about it, but at the same time, there's still a lot of work ahead," said the agency's Ron Nelson. "So you can only be excited for one day before you move on to the future."

Phase Four, which will take the Truman down to Whitfield Avenue, is expected to open by October of 2005.
