Despite the rain, folks started lining up overnight in downtown Savannah for the grand opening of the new Joe's Crab Shack on River Street.
Eager seafood lovers started lining up outside at about 10 p.m. Monday night.
The first 100 people in line at 11 a.m. Tuesday when Joe's Crab Shack on River Street opens will receive vouchers for a free snow crab bucket every month for an entire year.
"I may just turn into a crab, I love them that much," said Caesar Walker, who waited in line for hours.
Some slept in tents, which was a good idea because it was raining off and on all morning.
Joe's Crab Shack has 130 restaurants in 31 states. The Savannah store is the company's newest location to open, bringing 140 new jobs to the area.
"Now, I don't have to drive to Jacksonville anymore. We were going there at least twice a month just to go to Joes Crab Shack, now that we have one right here in Savannah; I don't have to go far," said Walker.
The ribbon cutting and grand opening is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. The doors will open for business at 11 a.m.
They are taking donations for coupons all day and that money will go to benefit the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia.
