The Georgia State Patrol has reopened all of I-16 eastbound in Bulloch County after a wreck caused the road to be shut down for 8 hours overnight.
Georgia State Trooper First Class James Miller said two trucks were involved in a wreck that happened shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday. One truck rear-ended another, lost control and ran into trees along the interstate. That truck was completely disabled and had a ruptured fuel tank.
The other truck had some axle damage and was repaired at the scene.
No one was injured, but cleanup efforts ran into the 7th hour because everything had to be loaded off of the disabled truck before it could be moved.
I-16 eastbound was closed overnight from Mile Marker 116 to 127.
All of I-16 eastbound reopened around 6 a.m. Thursday.
