City to kick-off new CPR initiative Thursday

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The city has set a goal to train 6,000 Savannah residents in lifesaving CPR by year's end.

On Thursday, Mayor Edna B. Jackson and members of city council will join with city staff at a press conference at 10 a.m. on the front steps of the Civic Center, to launch this exciting new initiative.

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that metro Savannah's unemployment rate declined to 7.1 percent in April, down three-tenths of a percentage point from 7.4 percent in March.
