Grease fire erupts at Bluffton supermarket

BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

A small grease fire erupted Wednesday night at a Food Lion store in Bluffton.

The Bluffton Township Fire District was dispatched at about 6:15 p.m. to Food Lion on Fording Island Road. Crews found a small grease fire in the deli area of the store. An employee put the fire out with a fire extinguisher, according to the fire district.

The units were returned to service quickly while one Engine Company and Truck Company remained at the scene to help Food Lion with smoke removal.

Customers were allowed back in the store within 30 minutes.
