RED SPRINGS, NC (WMBF) - Two mothers are dead as their sons recover in a hospital from a shooting the Robeson County Sheriff's Office believes may have been domestic in nature.
It unclear who called 911 late Wednesday evening to report the shooting, and Capt. Anthony Thompson says as their investigation continues the sheriff's office is still searching for a motive.
The two women shot to death in the front yard of the home in Red Springs are mothers to the two males that were also injured. Those males were initially transported to Southeastern Regional Medical Center, then transported Chapel Hill.
This is being considered a double homicide, Capt. Thompson confirms, and for the sake of the investigation the names of the victims have not been released.
Stephanie Robusto will have the latest on this investigation on WMBF News at 4. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call their local authorities as soon as possible.
