The city of Savannah is one of just five cities in the nation to receive a grant to help save lives. The Bloomberg Foundation, American Heart Association and Blue Cross Blue Shield has awarded Savannah with 1,000 hands only CPR kits. The kits include and inflatable torso to practice on, printed directions and a DVD.
"We want to be able to train our residents and our businesses. We put this young man in their building to train their workers on how to perform CPR on someone that may come in a business or work in a business," said Savannah Mayor Edna Jackson.
The goal is to have each of the 1,000 who get trained in CPR to train five more people, brining to the total to 6,000 CPR trained folks in Savannah.
