This weekend marks the 6th edition of the annual event, and there are more than 40 authors participating in the festival.
Saturday is the main event. There are attractions all around Telfair Square, such as appearances from CNN anchor Jake Tapper and former Vice President and author Al Gore.
On Friday, Bobby Deen was talking to the crowd about his new book "From Momma's Table to Mine."
"The Savannah Book Festival has come a long way since it's inception and I'm really glad to be here with a bunch of A-listers and be back at home." said Bobby Deen, author of "From Momma's Table to Mine."
