Two of Georgia's most influential leaders were inducted to the Georgia Trustees Saturday evening.
Chick-Fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy and Atlanta real estate entrepeneur Herman J. Russel were inducted by Georgia Governor Nathan Deal.
The two were chosen based on their excellence in their work and phlanthropic accomplishments.
Governor Deal said Savannah is the perfect city to bestow such an honor.
"This is certainly a recognition of the important history the state of Georgia has and certainly this area of Savannah being where Oglethorpe established the first settlements of his colony here. It's always been a great part of our history and I think it's important that we remember that and we teach it to our children." said Governor Deal.
After the presentation, the new trustees were given the chance to discuss their thoughts on topics ranging from business to history.
