COLLINS, GA (WTOC) -
The Georgia State Fire and Insurance Commission says around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, fire ripped through the Collins Full Gospel Tabernacle Church on Pearl Street in Collins, Georgia.
State fire marshals told WTOC a neighbor spotted the blaze and immediately called 911. Witnesses say the fire was "fierce" and flames were clearly visible above the trees surrounding the church.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze.
Investigators say the church's tin roof collapsed and was not cool enough for fire marshals to go in at the time. They plan to go back out first thing Monday to continue the investigation and look into a cause.
