STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -
A man has been arrested and charged in connection
with a chase in Statesboro.
At 10 p.m. Feb. 15, Bulloch County Deputy Mark
Guarino overheard radio traffic from Georgia Southern University police that
they were chasing a vehicle near the campus, according to the Bulloch County
Sheriff's Office.
Guarino spotted the vehicle US 80 east near Cawana Road
and the driver took off onto Cawana Road, according to the sheriff's office. The
chase continued through the Lowe's parking lot and back onto US 80 eastbound.
The driver continued speeding and turned into the Merrywood
subdivision.
Guarino located the vehicle at a residence in the 300
block of Meadowlark Circle. The driver, later identified as Richard Osborne, 22,
of Stateesboro, took off running, but was later apprehended with residents'
help, according to the sheriff's office.
Osborne was charged with several traffic violations including
felony fleeing and attempting to elude and obstruction.
He is being held at the Bulloch County Jail without
bond. No one was injured during the chase and no property was damaged.
