
Ogeechee River levels continue to rise.The flood warning continues for the Ogeechee River near Eden. At 10 a.m. Tuesday, the stage was at 10.9 feet. Flood stage is 9.0 feet. Minor flooding is occurring, according to the National Weather Service.
The river is expected to rise near 11.4 feet by Thursday, according to the NWS. At 12.0 feet, the bottom floor of several homes at Morgans Bridge begin to flood and the boat ramp and campground along Dashers Landing near Eden will be affected, according to the NWS.
The warning includes these counties in the WTOC viewing area: Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Tattnall, Toombs and Appling. The NWS alerts residents 24 hours before rivers reach flood stages so that they can prepare for flooding.
