State investigators are taking a closer look at a mobile home fire after they discovered it may have been set by an intruder. They say it could also be connected to another mobile fire that was set just a few weeks back.
On Monday, neighbors said someone broke into a mobile home on Green Oaks Dr. in Regency Park, stole some items and set the stove on fire to cover up the crime.
The same thing happened at another mobile home in Regency Park two weeks ago. When Southside firefighters got there, they found something near the stove that caught fire, damaging the kitchen. Fire investigators later determined it was arson.
Now, neighbors are concerned the fires may be connected, and the person may strike again.
"They were not home and somebody set a fire in order to cover up a break-in, perhaps," said a neighbor. "The same thing happened just recently to a home on White Magnolia. I am kind of concerned about it."
