Georgia Southern University students who are or have been in the military have a new resource. The Student Veterans Association is available to students who are current or former active duty, National Guard, or are children or spouses of those military members. Organizers estimate 800 to 1,000 students fit at least one of those categories.
"We're working with them so they know everything in the GI Bill and what's available to them," explained Retired Col. George Frederick of the GSU Military Resource Center. "There's also the networking, one veteran can spot another veteran. They know they're not here alone. In addition, we also work with them on options post-graduation."
For more information, students can visit the Military Resource Center in the Nessmith-Lane Continuing Education Center.
