ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
A little girl is being treated for a head wound after a dog attacked her in a west Albany neighborhood Wednesday night. She was in good condition Thursday evening
Police say the 90-pound pit bull escaped from a fenced-in yard in the 400 block of Station Crossing Drive about 5:30 p.m. and ran toward a group of children who were playing outside.
The children ran, but 5 year-old Janiya Solomon fell down, and the dog attacked her.
The dog's owner, 21 year-old Cory Smith of Worth County, is charged with animal at large and no rabies tag.
The dog is now quarantined.
