Man arrested on manufacturing meth charges

SCREVEN CO., GA (WTOC) -

A Screven County man faces drug charges in connection with the discovery of methamphetamine lab at his home.

The Screven County Sheriff Mike Kile requested the assistance of the Effingham County Sheriff's Office about drug activity in the area.

In the joint effort, ECSO drug agents discovered a meth lab at the home.

Tracy Austin, 42, was arrested at his home on Runs Branch Road near Newington. Austin was arrested on charges of trafficking methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of tools during the commission of a crime.

Austin has an extensive criminal history and has served prison time for manufacturing meth, according to the ECSO.

He remains in the Screven County jail.
