HAMPTON CO., SC (WTOC) -
A former Hampton County sheriff's
deputy was indicted on Thursday on several counts of child molestation charges.
A Hampton County grand jury
indicted 52-year-old Larry Heyward on one count of criminal sexual conduct with
a minor between 11 and 14 years old and committing a lewd act on a minor and
misconduct in public office.
Heyward worked for the Hampton
County Sheriff's Office and worked as a school resource officer. He was fired
after a male student came forward to report he had been abused several times between
August 2010 and December 2012, according to the Fourteenth Circuit
Solicitor's Office.
The State Law Enforcement
Division is investigating.
