SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Armstrong Atlantic State University held their "Pirate Preview" open house Saturday.
The family-oriented event is for students interested in knowing more about Armstrong. Students and their parents met with Armstrong faculty, learned about admission and financial aid, and toured the campus and residential housing.
Kathryn Buffington is looking for a college transfer and she says Armstrong may be just the right fit for her.
"I really like the feel of savannah and it's a small college and it's more of a community so I like that. Also, they have a biology program, so I like that. So, it's what I'm looking for it has the sea turtles that they deal with and stuff like that."
A department fair was also offered for students to explore majors and potential career paths.
