The Georgia Department of Transportation announced that a railroad crossing will be closed at State Route 25, or South Coastal Highway, between Nelson Avenue and Rommel Avenue in conjunction with construction on the railroad.
The crossing will be closed from 8 a.m. Sunday, February 24th until 5 p.m. Monday, February 25th.
The maintenance project is to make that the road over the tracks is smooth enough for motorists at the crossing.
Detour routes will be assigned as follows:
- Traffic traveling northbound will detour on Brampton Road to S.R. 21. Traffic will travel south to S.R. 307, or Bourne Avenue, and then east to S.R. 307 to S.R. 25.
- Traffic traveling southbound will detour at the intersection S.R. 307, or Bourne Avenue. Traffic will travel west on S.R. 307 to the intersection of S.R. 21, then south to Brampton Road.
S.R. 25 will remain open to local traffic up to the work zone.
