Ag officials warn of horse virus

ATLANTA (WTOC) -

The Georgia Dept. of Agriculture is warning residents. If you had a horse that participated in the Sun in Ocala, Fla., keep an eye on it.

A horse in the show has tested positive for Equine Herpes Virus. The Georgia Dept. of Agriculture recommending horses be quarantined and watched closely for the next 21 days.

If a fever or illness develops, call a veterinarian. The Division of Animal Industry is investigating.

On Friday, parents lined the Pine Barren Road, trying to retrieve their kids. The middle school students were relocated to West Chatham Elementary School after a suspicious package was found at West Chatham Middle School.
