Drivers in the Lowcountry are dealing with flooding all throughout the area and one of the worse places was on Highway 170 at the 278 interchange. The 278 east ramp was blocked due to flooding.
The entire road looked like a pond. Police blocked it off. Drivers looking to head 278 eastbound had to find another route. Crew working the scene placed huge cones in the road that slowed traffic because they had to merge.
The flood waters even started to run over onto the exit ramp getting off 278 west. However, that did remain open.
The only one that seemed to be enjoying the flooding was a small white crane that waded through the waters.
The deputy and the crew at the scene said that once the rain stops, the ramp should drain in a couple of hours.
