Yamacraw Village residents will now be able to get health care without having to leave their neighborhood.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Wednesday for the Curtis V. Cooper Primary Health Care Clinic on West Bryan Street.
The opening of the center comes in cooperation with the Housing Authority of Savannah. The original clinic was opened by Dr. Curtis V. Cooper in 1971. The doctor believed everyone had a right to reasonable health care. This new clinic will fulfill that philosophy.
"A full service health clinic. One thing about Curtis V. Cooper that's so interesting is that you can see a general practitioner, you can see a dentist, we have a pharmacist, everything is one stop shopping," said Dr. C McGill Brown, board chairman.
This is the third location for the clinic. The others are located on East Broad and Roberts Street.
