SCMPD budget cuts released

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Chief Willie Lovett says no funds for his department appear to be in jeopardy because of the potential federal funding sequestration.

Lovett did say any potential reduction in federal funds could have considerable effects on future crime fighting.

"Crime fighting is an expensive endeavor and criminals rarely reduce their operations." stated Lovett.
