BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) -

A new superintendent for Beaufort County schools likely to be picked Thursday.

The Beaufort County board of education meets Thursday to select a new superintendent.

Two finalists have been praised for helping their districts close racial and socio-economic achievement gaps, improve graduation rates and bolster curriculum.

The Beaufort County school board will meet at 4 p.m. at Bluffton Middle School in a closed session.
