On Thursday, a jury foundy Jerry Scantling, 30, guilty in the 2010 murder of Leonard Green, 52, of Hilton Head Island.
He will serve life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Scantling shot and killed Green on Pickney Island Boat Landing back in May of 2010.
He was arrested a few months later for burglary and theft. He stole the gun used to kill Green from a home, and then stole Green's car. A year after he was arrested, Scantling was charged with Green's murder.
The trial reopened earlier this week. The judge declared a mistrial in the case last year after one of the jurors backed out because of their religious beliefs and the alternate juror that stepped up to take the spot had to be removed.
