Public investiture of new Grand Marshal to take place Sunday

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Soon it will be official; Jimmy Ray will lead the 189th Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade.

On Sunday, a public investiture of the new Grand Marshal will take place in downtown Savannah.

At last year's investiture, former Grand Marshal Walter Crawford placed the sash over Tim Ansley's shoulder. Now Ansley will perform the same ritual on Sunday when he turns the sash over to Jimmy Ray at the Savannah Civic Center beginning at 2:45 p.m.

The reception for the new Grand Marshal was held Thursday night at Benedictine Military School.
