SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating two suspects involved in an armed robbery in west Savannah.
Surveillance cameras captured a gunman and his accomplice entering the Dollar General in the 2100 block of West Bay Street just before 9 p.m. last Saturday. The gunmen jumped over the counter and demanded cash from two employees. Both of the suspects left the scene in a dark colored vehicle, traveling eastbound on West Bay Street from Tuten Avenue. The vehicle was later abandoned by the suspects in the downtown Savannah area.
Witnesses say the gunman has a slender build and is approximately 5'10". He wore all black clothing and a black baseball cap during the robbery. His face was also partially covered.
The second suspect is described as having a heavy build and is approximately 5'10" to 6'. He also wore all black clothing and a black baseball cap. Both suspects are described as black males.
