Dr. Annette BrockHorizons Savannah honored Dr. Annette Brock at their third annual Honoring an Educator Gala on Friday. Dr. Brock is a Savannah native and taught in the Savannah-Chatham County School System for several years. She also worked at Savannah State University, where she also served as president.
"I am in awe of the turnout and I know it is for a good cause, so while I am telling myself it is a remarkable turnout, the people are here to support Horizons Savannah, which is a wonderful program that I am glad to be connected with," said Brock.
A lot of great items were up for auction at the gala. Proceeds will go to Horizons Savannah, which provides summer programs for low-income students in the area. WTOC's Sonny Dixon served as the host for the event.
