Day 6: Red Cross walk continues to Uvalda

TOOMBS CO., GA (WTOC) -

WTOC's Dal Cannady continues his journey across the Coastal Empire to raise money for the American Red Cross.

Monday is his sixth day of walking and he heads from Vidalia to Uvalda. Dal was in Toombs County on Sunday. He was joined by 14-year-old Kennedy Joiner of Vidalia. Her community rallied behind her a few years ago - when she had some medical issues.

Now she's giving back waiting tables with Dal at the Local Pizza Inn. The pair worked for tips as part of the fund-raising campaign.

The money is being donated to the American Red Cross disaster teams.
