The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Friday afternoon at a Burton insurance office.
Deputies responded just before 5 p.m. Friday to the People's Choice Insurance at 586 Parris Island Gateway. Two employees told deputies that the business had just been robbed by a male suspect.
The man went into the office, brandished a handgun and demanded money, according to the BCSO. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and left. The employees were not harmed. He was last seen running down Falls Road toward Bonaire Circle.
The suspect was described as a black male. He's about 5' 9" tall and weighs 220 lbs. He was wearing a long-sleeve white shirt with a blue emblem on the back, blue jeans and a black skeleton mask.
