Liberty Transit is expanding its service.
LIBERTY CO., GA (WTOC) -
Liberty Transit is expanding its routes around Liberty County.
The transit service has been running for about three years now. The county saw the need to expand to different areas, but also keep within a budget.
New service areas include Savannah Technical College, Darsey and some neighborhoods. Evening service will be cut back a bit.
"We've put up three routes. We had four. We dropped down to three, but we're going to areas we haven't gone into before. It's a great thing that's happening and we're going into areas that the population really needs it," said Theodis Jackson, general manager of Liberty Transit.
The fare is $2 to ride all day.
