A
Port Wentworth man pleaded guilty to murder charges Tuesday in 2011 slaying of his wife.
Kenneth
Edward Sanders, 48, received life in prison as part of a plea deal, according
to the Chatham County District Attorney's Office.
Nancy
Bruin Sanders, 28, was stabbed in front of her three young children at her Old
Mill Road home in the Rice Creek subdivision. Port Wentworth police got a call
at about 5 p.m. on July 23, 2011 from Sanders' neighbor who was contacted by
one of Sanders' daughters.
Police
found Nancy Sanders dead on the floor and Kenneth Sanders threatening to kill
himself with the murder weapon, according to the Chatham County District
Attorney's Office.
Kenneth
Sanders was subdued with a stun gun and taken into custody. He was later
charged with felony murder, possession of a knife in committing a crime and six
counts of cruelty to children.
