Some South Carolina residents are still feeling the backlash of the 2012 identity theft scandal in the state.
South Carolina's Department of Revenue has been receiving more calls as residents continue to file their taxes.
One man who lives in Savannah but works in South Carolina says he recieved a letter from the IRS saying his taxes had been received and were being reviewed. However, he has not filed yet.
The identity thefts are a result of the international hacker who took information from 3.8 million tax payers in the state.
Anyone that thinks they have become a victim and that someone has filed a bogus tax return in their name should contact the Department of Revenue or visit their website at http://www.sctax.org/default.htm for more information.
