Body pulled from Savannah River

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A man was working on the tugboat docks when he fell into the water on Wednesday morning.

Savannah Firefighters, Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Dept. and Marine Rescue responded and pulled him out of the water, but he was already dead, according to police.

SCMPD's Violent Crimes is taking over the investigation. Police said it is too early to tell if foul play was involved, but any time there is a death in Savannah, it is investigated by violent crimes.

WTOC has a crew at the scene. Check WTOC.com and WTOC on Twitter and Facebook for updates on this developing story.
